Overview Metrics

Updated this week

The Overview section provides a concise and at-a-glance summary of the most impactful metrics tied to your campaign. This article explains how to configure metrics in the Overview section and who can configure them.

Only admins, campaign managers, and users with campaign settings permission can configure metrics. Other users can only view the configured metric.

Step 1: Access the Configure Metrics Section

To start configuring your metrics, click the Configure Metrics button located in the top right of the Overview section or hover over any metric to configure it:

Step 2: Determine the Metric You Want to Display

Decide which metric you’d like to display. For example, you may want to track cost savings, revenue generated, or time saved.

Give your metric a descriptive title. This title will be visible to all platform users, so make sure it’s clear and explanatory (e.g., Total Revenue Generated or Realised Cost Savings):

Step 3: Select a Custom Field

Metrics are calculated based on numerical custom fields. To configure the metric, select a custom field from the Select Custom Field dropdown. This dropdown will list all numerical and currency-type custom fields:

Step 4: Choose the Calculation Method

Currently, only the sum calculation method is available. This method will sum up the values of the selected custom field for all ideas included in the metric:

Step 5: Apply Filters (Optional)

Applying a filter is optional, but you can narrow down your metrics based on the stage or status of the ideas.

  • Stage Filter: If you want to calculate the metric for ideas in specific stages (e.g., Implement or Evaluate), select those stages.

  • Status Filter: You can filter by the status of ideas (e.g., Open, Rejected, Closed):

Step 6: Save the Metric

Once you have set up your metric, click Save to apply the configuration:

Once configured, your metrics will be updated in real-time. Whenever the custom field values for ideas are updated, the dashboard will reflect the changes immediately:

If no metric is configured, the dashboard will display a “Not Set” value. Make sure to configure at least one metric to start tracking the impact.

We hope you find this information useful. If you have any questions regarding the dashboard - please feel free to reach out via Intercom. We're always happy to help.
